Ingredients:

For the Chaat Assembly:

  • 1/2 cup sweet tamarind chutney
  • 1/4 cup green chutney (coriander-mint chutney)
  • 1/2 cup yogurt (preferably fresh and chilled)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Pomegranate seeds (for garnish)
  • Sev (crunchy chickpea noodles)
  • Fresh coriander leaves (finely chopped for garnish)
  • Black salt (optional, but highly recommended)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Potatoes:

  • Peel and cut the boiled potatoes into cubes.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, add the potato cubes and sauté until they become crispy and golden on all sides.
  • Add cumin powder, chaat masala, red chili powder, and salt. Toss everything well so the spices coat the potatoes evenly. Remove from heat and set aside.

2. Prepare the Yogurt:

  • In a small bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth. Add a little salt and a squeeze of lemon juice. This adds a nice tanginess to balance the spices.

3. Assemble the Chaat:

  • Take a plate or serving dish and add the crispy spiced potatoes.
  • Drizzle sweet tamarind chutney and green chutney over the potatoes.
  • Add a generous dollop of the seasoned yogurt on top.
  • Sprinkle black salt, roasted cumin powder, and extra chaat masala on top for flavor.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves, pomegranate seeds, and sev to add crunch and freshness.

4. Serve:

  • Serve immediately while the potatoes are still crispy for the best taste. Enjoy the perfect mix of spicy, tangy, and crunchy goodness!
